TRANSFORMING REDUNDANT OFFICES INTO A VIBRANT NEW COMMUNITY
BATH STREET, HEREFORD

THE FACADES OF LOCALLY LISTED BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN RETAINED TO CREATE A VIBRANT AFFORDABLE HOUSING SCHEME.

Working alongside Connexus Housing Group we have helped to transform Herefordshire County Council’s former offices into affordable housing in Hereford, retrofitting a silent and empty building into a vibrant new community.

First built as Hereford Working Boys’ Home and Industrial School, and later used as a base for Herefordshire Council’s children’s services and registry offices, the red brick Victorian buildings were in need of renovation back in March 2019.

Phase I of the affordable housing development at Bath Street features two and three-bedroom apartments forming 27 high-quality affordable homes. The second phase includes 47 more affordable rented properties. The new apartments benefit from the site’s convenient city-centre location, just a short walk from supermarkets, doctors’ surgeries and schools.

The courtyard-style layout of Phase I and Phase II of the scheme aim to build on this community feel, making good on Connexus’ long-term promises of investing not just in developments, but in communities.
